MiniJam: 169 - Things that would have been nice to add.

Game was made for MiniJam 169: Future.

Postmortem

Some thoughts about what I've done, I know it is a game jam, but I still want to flesh out the idea so it is at least properly semi-playable as an actual game.

The original concept is basically trying to let the decisions impact the game world, it could be the state of the game, or response of the game towards the player. This was inspired by WWE TCG where players take actions playing out prematch cards (location of match, title, storyline) before gameplay starts.

I then decided to maybe make it in a city builder/RTS view, then scoped down to a simulation game. Imagine Batman arkham but without the combat and pure sims. So, a vigilante is born and he has to weigh the cost! (see what i did there?)

Since the game was suppose to be a simulation-type game focusing on the decisions the player makes, it would have been nice to add some interactivity to the game world. Something that interacts with the player so the player is a little more engaged, whether its a cutscene/animation of decisions etc.

Nice to havesExamples
AnimationsAnimation of decision made (eg: animation of bribery, scaling a tower, etc)
NPC MovementCivilians moving around, police or mobsters appearing during different times of day or whenever a decision is made
Procedural generationGeneration of city, placement of buildings, placement of decisions for each day.
Car movementVehicles moving around the city with traffic lights implemented.
