Postmortem
Some thoughts about how the game jam panned out for us. Conceptually we have stayed true to what we have drafted out but it proved a little challenging with the timeframe we had. You play as an energy superpower secretly harvesting vampire blood. Vampires have caught onto your actions and are trying to stop you. Manage your employees with specially engineered flood lights which harm vampires.
We achieved what we intended but lacked a few features compared to the fleshed out draft. The concept is very much similar but with the addition of having the players juggle between different labs if the player had lost too many employees from the starting one. The players would then have to protect their employees with a longer distance between the new lab and the bloodbank. There would also be multiple vampires/more aggressive AI for the vampires.
Features aside, overall we had a pretty good experience since we were mainly programmers and did not really do much art. Modelling were all done in blockbench and photopea for any editing.
